I love holidays. They’re awesome. Time away from home/work with the kids in a holiday resort enjoying the local attractions, what’s not to love?
Try doing something to your knee first night. OUCH!!
Anyway… Pics have been posted from the instagram of an awesome air museum that was a ww2 airbase. Very, very humbling.
Yes, I know I rarely post these and yes, my last entry said I was going to post more and I haven’t but alas, I usually don’t have anything of interest to day.
Lets start with something serious.
I was in Hull city centre today with PB doing a bit of shopping before heading to a film/tv collectors fair and I heard some commotion in the central square. There was a ring of police officers surrounding what was an EDL protest about..something.
I really don’t have time for these idiots (EDL, not the Police, they’re the good guys) and their bigotry ways. If you look back at the history of East Yorkshire, or England in general, you will see that the English people are actually made up of people from pretty much all of Northern Europe.
I believe, (correct me if I’m wrong) that the only truly British people are descendants of the Celtic tribes of Scotland and Wales and that as England and most of the UK was settled by the Romans (Italy), Vikings (Scandinavia), Angles and Saxons (German) I think we should stop trying to keep England to the English and keep our mouths shut!
I, for one, welcome immigration. I have friends who I have met through PB who are some of the nicest, smartest and welcoming people I have ever had the fortune to meet and I will gladly learn the ways of another culture to enrich my life.
Ok, rant over, back to the fun stuff…
The aforementioned collector fair I went to earlier today was pretty mega. I went to the same one last year which was really good and managed to bag myself The Guild: Volume 2. This ear however, I fared slightly better. As well as a couple of new shirts, I managed to gain +1 bobble head and leveled up! Thanks to my new Iron Man Bobble Head.
Yeah, it doesn’t look as impressive written down but I think they’re pretty dammed awesome.
Also, as previously blogged via my Instagram account, the world is indeed a better place with a calculator watch on your wrist. Especially when it only cost £3.00. Yes, THREE POUNDS. I’m very, very happy.
Right… what else… Ooo… recent gaming exploits!
I bought Guitar Hero World Tour aaaaages ago and I finally got around to playing it yesterday… I have to say, being able to piss about playing a plastic guitar and pressing the right buttons while listening to Freak On A Leash is more fun than it seems. Also.. I need to find my mic as I really want to try the Jonathan Davies vocals in the “Boom na da ummmm” part.
Also… I finally decided to play F.E.A.R. I bought it when I first got this rig back when it first came out. I installed it several time but never got around to playing it as I struggled to get into the story. I still haven’t got into the story but the shooting people parts are pretty satisfying.
Hopefully, with the help of the Wikipedia page, I should be able to work out whats going on and have that warm glowing feeling when you beat a game and realise the story was really good (a la Half-Life, and to a degree, HALO).
Until next time….
