X Factor Woes...
I will admit, I’m not a massive fan of The X Factor.
The early shows just seem to take the piss of the people who obviously won’t make it to the train home never mind the next round and the 3 Judges Plus Louis ‘I WANT YOU IN THE FINAL’ Walsh, seem to revel in the lunacy of 50 year old women thinking they’re Britney Spears.

Monday.
Went back to work and did pretty much what I do nearly every day. It can get tedious sometimes but I enjoy speaking to the public. Some calls can be a little ‘ungh’ but some people are...

After a week off due to illness, I begin my driving lessons again today.
Last time out, my instructor told me we would be venturing towards East Hull because of the excessive amount of roundabouts and bad drivers.
Being honest, I’m feeling a little anxious about it. Its been a couple of weeks and I’m pretty sure my clutch control will be, well, shit really.

Oh dear! Minty-fresh it is not!
So, I decided to make the switch to Linux Mint 11 (Katya) which I will admit, looks really good and runs smooth. Kinda like Ubuntu really. Except for 1 little problem - my sound driver doesn’t appear to be compatible. Yet it worked fine in Ubuntu… WTF!!!
So now, instead of enjoying my music files and videos in my fresh and clean install of Mint, I have to scour the web to find out...

Soft Kitty
I’m ill. I hate being ill. Last night at approximately midnight, I decided to go to bed. I was feeling somewhat OK, possibly due to my consuming Captain Morgans and Coke however, but still I felt fine.
That was until vomiting commenced at approximately 2.30 in the am. No, it wasn’t said Seafarer and soft drink, it was worse. Phlegm. Urghh!!

Which OS?
I’m thinking about switching the O/S on my main rig.
Its nothing startling but it does what I need it to do.
3.0Ghz Pentium D
2gig Kingston Hyper X ram
750 gig total drive space (main 250 gig drive for the o/s install, 500gig docs etc)
nVidia 8600GT graphics
Trust Sound card.
Currently dual booting Ubuntu 11.04 and WinXP

Spotify + Linux
Spotify does not like Linux. I managed to get it installed under WINe and running but when it came to playing music…
Apparently, my sound card does not work. IT DOES WHEN I’M LISTENING TO MUSIC VIA AMAROK!!!!

From what I can tell from browsing several forums, Spotify are working on a Linux version but its only available for Premuim and Unlimited users. Bugger....
New Season...
So… it all starts again tonight. 9 months of highs and lows combined with a few ooo’s and ahhh’s.
As a Hull City fan I have grown accustomed to disappointment. After 104 years of lower division football, ‘we’ (I don’t actually play for City, I’m no where near good enough) actually made it to the promised land of Premier League riches.
